Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ), a nonprofit member organization dedicated to supporting education, research, animal care, visitor experience and the sustainability mission of the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park is seeking a temporary web content editor to work on the FONZ pages of the website and FONZ related digital communications, specifically FONZ education, membership, marketing, events, revenue-generating programs, retail, guest services and volunteers. These sections of the website require frequent updating, but often not large substantive changes. This position will coordinate a series of electronic newsletters: ZooFriends; YP News; SMBC newsletter, Smithsonian Flyer, and any other FONZ-specific enewsletters that may develop in the future, including events emails. This position would create, build, and manage FONZ-specific social network accounts, including specifically Facebook and Twitter.

This is a contract position.
