Our PSA 301 is moving back to the 3D Station. Chief Groomes has assured us that nothing will change, we will continue to have the same officers and the same beat. Personally I think 3D is closer to us than the substation anyway. See her email below:
Citizens... after meeting with citizens and having many meeting with both citizens and the Third District regarding the crime patterns/issues and recent spree of violence in PSA 302/304.. I am planning to move the PSA 304 contingency to the Substation (750 Park Rd) and have the 301 contingency move down to the main station (1624 V ST NW)... this move will in no way effect police service or response to the community and in fact may improve it for all.. remember officers do not get dispatched from the station house but are out in the field receiving calls for service and handling crime issues on the beat..
I feel that PSA 302 and 304 which do share their border on Georgia Ave and Harvard St have related crime issues, gangs and community meetings thus having the officers having their roll call together will improve communications between members and thus improving the communication to the citizens and crime action planning...
I plan to hold a meeting in December to talk about this issue for those interested in this dialogue.. again this will improve operations and crime action planning and response to the community..

| Does this mean we will no longer be able to get guest parking passes at the substation, and will need to go the V Street? |
