If this 300-foot requirement was followed, can the organizers of Fiesta DC produce a list of the names of the residents and businesses that said yes? This is a surprisingly large area that's covered (see map below), were the requirements of obtaining the permit actually followed?

| Interesting visual, lmikes, and something I was curious about too. I'm glad you posted it. I think it's safe to assume that they did not get the required consent this year, and we can certainly require this of the organizers next year, if it comes to that.

@ kelly5612-
I don't believe that the organizers of previous Fiesta DC's ever obtained the necessary signatures/consent from residents. That has been the gripe of residents from the beginning. Despite this blatant disregard for the requirements the Fiesta continues to happen year after year with everyone involved saying "next year we will comply with residents' requests".

Complete with Councilmember Graham's approval to boot (in fact he has doubled down on his support for the Fiesta).
Meanwhile, residents in our own neighborhood are quick to be fined for not removing old RPP stickers. Not linked by any means, but just emblematic of our governance problems.

Not to scew the conversation too much but we had the pleasure of returning from an out of town road trip that day and had to park all the way down at Klingle (we live at Newton & 17th)...on our walk back from our illegal parking spot (with two toddlers and luggage in tow) we saw countless neighborhood residence vehicles with parking tickets on their windshields. It just ads insult to injury when the police decide not to give just a tad bit of leniancy!!! we were lucky enough to avoid a ticket for our illegal parking..but I'm curious how many received tickets...we counted at least six on our walk back to our home.

| No one came knocking at the Argyle despite the fact that one of the main stages was directly in front of the building and the festival shut down vehicular access to our building for 24 hours from midnight the night before until midnight after the festival. Our building manager is there everyday, as is our resident manager. I reached out to the Fiesta DC management several times with no answer. Finally, after several calls, I got a response with information about street closures only a few days before the event. The coordinator, Cathleen McNamara, told me that representatives were knocking doors along Mt. Pleasant St. but I assured her that we had no such notice.

Can we compel the Fiesta organizers to produce evidence of compliance with the 75% rule? Will the ANC throw its weight behind this?

So how was the Fiesta? Was it fun? Never heard anything about it since I was in NY this year.

It was awful. I've long been a supporter of Fiesta DC, encouraging them to have their event here, since about 2003. But this was dreadfully badly managed, and turned into a nightmare for many Mount Pleasant residents. Here's what I had to say about it, afterwards: http://www.dcwatch.com/themail/2011/11-09-28.htm
